I’m sure you have a ton of questions! I’m here to answer them for you. 🙂 Let’s hop on a call, or a zoom chat! In the meantime, here are some frequently asked questions.
Do I have to already be a model to do a shoot with you?
Nope! Not at all. In fact, you don’t even have to want to be a model at all; we can just take some amazing portraits of you for fun! However, I’m a former model, and I’ll be able to coach and guide you through poses, helping you find what works best for you. I’ll help you look relaxed, natural, and GORGEOUS!
Do you retouch my images?
We are about body positivity here, and we work with angles and lighting to make you look amazing (along with the professional hair and makeup you’ll have going on, and some great outfits!). In post processing, I will edit out zits, dark circles, stray hairs, things like that. You’ll look like an elevated version of yourself. While I will do other manipulations upon request, I beg you to keep your beauty marks, birthmarks, and freckles! They are beautiful! I feel the same about gray hairs and stretch marks; they are a sign of your life experiences and wisdom. But if you would like to have some of that downplayed, we can work to arrive at retouching that is natural, and still celebrates your natural beauty. No fake overly photoshopped images here!
What about outfits?
I do have a few outfits and accessories at the studio that you can borrow! Including the infamous red robe. Otherwise, one of my services is working with you to figure out what to bring to the shoot. We’ll decide what styles, themes, and vibes you want to go for! On the shoot day, I’ll help you put it all together. It’s always better to bring a little more than you need, too.
What if I’m nervous?
Well, that’s pretty normal. 🙂 But, as a former model, you’ll have someone who can coach and guide you through natural looking facial expressions and poses. You’ll be in good hands, and we’ll just turn your nerves into excitement! 🙂
Do I have to buy a minimum of products?
Nope! You buy only what you love. I’ll walk you through all the options, and help you choose your favorite images. Then we’ll talk about what you might like to have printed!
Do you have payment plans?
We have a few different payment options, and we also accept credit cards. To book your shoot, it’s just a 50% retainer fee. Then the remainder is just due before the session. So if you want to space out payments, a good way to do that is to book your session a little further in advance. Let’s chat about some more options that are customized to you!
Is hair and makeup included in my session?
We know that some of our clients have favorite hair and makeup artists that they prefer to use, and that works for us! You can even have them set up at my studio before the shoot, to make it easier. We also have a list of amazing artists that we can recommend to you! Our favorites start at $185 for hair and makeup combined, depending on what you want/need. We can help you with that!
Where should I buy outfits?
Well, first check and see if you already have outfits you love and would like to be photographed in! Accessories, too. But if you’re planning on buying new ones, I really love shopping at Torrid myself! I also have a few dresses and other things you can borrow, and we can chat about that.
What type of print products do you have?
We offer a variety of gorgeous albums, wall art, custom framing, and folio boxes with prints in them! I think you can’t go wrong with a beautiful piece of acrylic wall art, and an album of your favorite images. Having something that you get to hold and touch and feel, and maybe even pass down through generations, is what I really want you to have as our final result of the shoot.
Do you offer digitals?
Yes! You will get the matching digital file for every image that you include in your artwork collection.
Should I get to my shoot early?
No need to be early, but do plan on being on time. Though 5 minutes early is better than late any day. 🙂
Where is your studio located?
We are at 2841 W Armitage Ave, at the storefront! In beautiful and vibrant Logan Square. 🙂
