Why Body Positive Beauty Photography?
It’s definitely more than just taking some photos. It’s about self love, self care, and honestly just having a great experience! I can think of nothing more fun than getting all glammed up, laughing and having a good time, and having some INCREDIBLE images to enjoy from the experience that will last a lifetime. I feel that everyone deserves to have that.
When I started photographing my fellow plus size models/friends back in 2005, I had no idea that I’d eventually be a full time Photographer! Now my absolutely favorite thing to do is photograph people looking and feeling their best. Coaching and guiding them, and giving them the experience of a lifetime. Having images to display and share with loved ones is the icing on the cake.

It’s all about the transformation.
When you walk into our studio, the experience begins. You may be nervous, excited, or both! But once you sit in the hair and makeup chair, it all starts to become real. We’ll be chatting, cracking jokes, and listening to some great music. Maybe a glass of champagne will make an appearance. 🙂 Nerves start to subside, and you start to get EXCITED for your shoot!
Then the shoot would start. The first series is to get you all warmed up. When I show you the back of the camera after the first series, I usually hear “OH MY GOD, that’s me? NO WAY that’s me!”. As we go into the next series and then the next, the laughter and smiles start to come out. Then she starts to feel beautiful. The sexy eyes come out. And you can tell that it’s starting to click with them.
By the time we finish the session and go into the reveal, we’re friends. We’ve just shared an experience that they will always remember. We’ve laughed and shared stories about our lives
Once I show them their pictures on the big screen, their jaws drop. They see themselves like they never have before. This is one of the amazing thing about body positive beauty photography. I get a chance to show them how I see them, how their loved ones see them, and be their mirror. When they walk out that door, they’re smiling so big and they can’t wait to tell all their friends about what they just did.
