Debating whether or not to do a portrait session for yourself?
When we’re thinking about self care, or just doing something nice for ourselves, a lot of excuses come up. “I don’t have time.”,“I need to lose 15 pounds”, “I shouldn’t spend this money on myself right now.”. Well, guess what? It’s time to forget about these little negative intrusive thoughts, and do something for YOU.
I talk about this a little in my video, which you can check out here:
So let’s dive into these little things that we all tell ourselves.
“I don’t have time.”
Now, I realize that I should be taking my own advice here. 🙂 But I am often terrible at carving out time for myself. We’re always so busy in this modern life, with lots of responsibilities, and promises made to other people. So how about making some promises to ourselves?
When you do a photo session for yourself, you are giving yourself permission to not only spend some ME time, but you’re also creating a lasting legacy. Who you are, right now, in this time. Preserving your beauty, your time in this life right now. This is for you, and also for your loved ones. How cool will it be to look at your photos in 10, 20, 30+ years and say, “Woah!”, look how gorgeous and confident I am in these photos!
“I need to lose weight to have my photo taken.”
Ok, I’ll stop you right there. NO WAY. Your beauty is not defined by your size, or what the scale says. You do not have to fit a certain mold to feel beautiful, and comfortable with who you are. And you certainly don’t have to be a certain size to have gorgeous photos taken of yourself! Of course, one of the best reasons to book a Pro Photographer is to have someone to coach and guide you through the shoot, to get the best angles, and to show off your favorite assets. And having your hair and makeup done will give you that extra boost to make you feel FIERCE in front of the camera!
“I don’t have the money to spend on myself right now.”
Most amazing experiences will involve some type of investment, it’s true. But the result of doing a photo shoot is something you get to enjoy, literally, for the rest of your life! And it’s also something you can pass down to future generations. So yeah, it’s important to go get your nails done, or get a massage every once in awhile. Those are super great ways to take care of yourself. But the experience of a professional photo shoot, and the resulting legacy of those printed photographs is something that’s eternal.
And, just so you know, we do accept credit cards, and offer payment plans. 🙂 Just mention that when you contact me to book your shoot, and I’ll give you more info!
